Today’s selections come from Peru. My trip there took me from Lima down along the coast and inland to Arequipa. From there I booked an overland trip to Colca Canyon, home of the condors as well as small, picturesque villages. The trip finished at Machu Picchu, the famous mountaintop city of the Inca.
Tightly fitted stonework, the hallmark of Inca architecture at Machu Picchu.
The ruins of Machu Picchu are truly atmospheric-steep slopes, astounding views and an unbelievable sunrise, all at cloud level.
The arched entrance to a beautiful church in the small village of Maca.
The Monasterio Santa Catalina in Arequipa is a fantastic place to photograph. The walls are painted in vivid blues and reds and every room and pathway offers another opportunity.
Founded in about 1580, the Monasterio Santa Catalina still functions as living quaters for a small group of nuns, but is largely open to the public. The preserved/restored buildings still retain a strong sense of history.

can’t wait to go and your photos make it even more appealing than what my honey-pie talks about. Thank you I can’t wait to show him your site.
Thanks CheyAnne. You won’t be disappointed. I had a great time from Lima down the coast (dune buggy riding in Huacachina), to Arequipa (the White City) to the Colca Valley (condors) to awesome Machu Picchu at sunrise. There may a few more Peru photos on my regular site: BuckleyPhotographs.com.
Thanks again for looking in and commenting.-Chris
